GLOBO Joins Panda Health to Enhance Language Access in Healthcare

Philadelphia, PA - GLOBO has been awarded status on Panda Health’s Digital Health Marketplace as a Panda Partner. The Language and Interpretation category highlights solutions that eliminate communication barriers due to language incompatibility between patients and providers.

The partnership allows Panda-contracted hospitals and health systems to utilize GLOBO for language support services, which enables health systems to effectively communicate with the limited-English proficient (LEP) population. Limited-English proficiency describes the 25 million Americans who do not speak English as their primary language and who have a limited ability to read, speak, write, or understand English.

LEP patients are at higher risk for healthcare readmission and experience longer stays than English-speaking patients. According to medical safety experts, around 80% of medical errors that could be deemed as "serious" were the direct result of poor communication. In one study of 23,000 medical malpractice lawsuits, 7,000 were related to communication failures. Access to interpreting services plays a critical role in mitigating risk.
