Rebecca Buchan has dedicated three decades to the field of American Sign Language interpreting. After becoming nationally certified and working in various interpreting venues, she has gone on to become an interpreting mentor, educator, and national presenter. Rebecca has spent time serving on several professional non-profit boards, including the state of Indiana's Board of Interpreting Standards (BIS), the Indiana Chapter of Interpreters for the Deaf (ICRID), as President, and the combined ICRID and Indiana Association of the Deaf Task Force. She holds the highest national certification for ASL interpreters and completed her master’s degree in Organizational Communication. She has interpreted for all levels of government proceedings including most recently, Presidents Obama and Trump. In her current position as Director of Training and Provost of GLOBO University with GLOBO Language Solutions, Rebecca’s primary responsibilities, along with the GLOBO University team of trainers, are to create and present interactive and independent trainings for the benefit and enjoyment of interpreters of any language, clients, consumers and internal GLOBO employees.

Melissa Ballesteros is the Interpreter Readiness Lead at Globo and a seasoned language teacher and Medical Interpreter Trainer with over a decade of experience. During the pandemic, she supervised a contact tracing team, focusing on the immigrant and international community to provide essential education and information. One of Melissa's most notable achievements as a teacher was spearheading a program that trained bilingual High School students to become medical interpreters. This initiative was among the first of its kind in the entire country, and it remains one of her proudest accomplishments.
As a part of the GLOBO University Team, Melissa is responsible for our Bridging the Gap programming, a 40 hour medical interpreter training that helps to usher new interpreters into the field.
Mitch Parker is a US Air Force veteran with a strong background in healthcare administration. After graduating from The Community College of the Air Force, he spent six years living in Central America working with La Fundación Piedad, where he guided medical, dental, and volunteer teams in providing care to the indigenous Bri Bri people.
His experiences in Central America sparked a passion for interpreting, which led him to co-own All Access Interpreters for thirteen years. With over two decades of experience, he is a licensed trainer for "The Medical Interpreter," a certificate training course designed to equip new interpreters with the skills they need to succeed. Parker has trained hundreds of interpreters throughout his career, contributing significantly to the field of medical interpreting.
Laurie Hunter is a retired, nationally certified sign language interpreter. She currently serves as a Team Lead for GLOBO’s training department, GLOBO University, and spends her time recruiting presenters to lead workshops for contract interpreters of all languages, clients, and internal staff. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Illinois, her Bachelor of Arts degree in ASL/English Interpretation from Columbia College in Chicago, and her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Indianapolis.
Presently, Nancy supporting the GLOBO University interpreter training program. Her eye for detail and heart for community and teamwork are true assets to the GLOBO Training Department.
