Who We are and What Services Does GLOBO Provide?

GLOBO provides multi-channel translation and interpretation technology services to a variety of industries including, healthcare, insurance, finance and the government.  GLOBO’s full range of language services include, On-Demand Telephone Interpretation, Video Remote Interpretation, On-Site Interpretation, Document Translation, On-Demand Text Translation, Transcreation and Fluency testing (“Services”). 

What Data Do We Collect and How Do We Collect It?

We gather various types of information, including, in some instances, information that identifies or may identify you as an individual (“Personal Information”).  

 

Information You Provide To Us:

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us. The Personal Information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and our different Sites, the choices you make, and the product features you use.  

From the Public Website: We may collect any Personal Information that you choose to send to us or provide to us through our website, for example, on our “Request a Demo” online form, or if you register for a GLOBO Webinar.  If you contact us through the GLOBO website, we will keep a record of the correspondence and we will keep the Personal Information you provide to us.  This could include name, address, contact information and/or payment information.

From the Product(s) and Services:  We receive and store the information that you request with respect to Services provided by GLOBO and/or when using the Services pursuant to a contract with GLOBO.  This applies to not only GLOBO’s customers, but also any clients of those customers who may access GLOBO’s products as a client of one of GLOBO’s customers. The types of information we may collect directly from our customers and their users may include: first and last names, usernames, passwords (including password hints and similar security information used for authentication and account access), email addresses, postal address, phone number, medical identification numbers, transactional information, as well as any other contact or other information customers, and/or customers’ users, choose to provide us or upload to our system in connection with the Services GLOBO provides.  

Payment Data: We also collect data necessary to process your payment if you make a purchase, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number), and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All payment data is stored by our payment processor and you should review its privacy policies and contact the payment processor directly to respond to your question.  

All Personal Information that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

 

Information that We Automatically Collect:

GLOBO may collect information relating to your device and/or usage information.

When you use the Public Website: When you visit the website, we collect certain information related to your device, such as your device’s IP address, referring website and what pages your device visited.

When you use our Product(s) and Services:  GLOBO keeps track of user activity in relation to the types of Services our customers and their users use, the configuration of their computers or other devices, the time a user logged on, and performance metrics related to their use of the Services.  We also log information about our customers and sometimes their users when they use one of our Services.  GLOBO also performs geo-location of users accessing the application as well as IP addresses. We use various technologies to collect information which may include saving cookies to users’ computers.

Mobile Device Access and Data:  We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s bluetooth, camera, microphone, and other features.  If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device settings.  We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the mobile application.  If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.

 

Information Collected from Other Sources:

We may collect limited data from public databases, marketing partners, and other outside sources.  We may obtain information about you from other sources, such as public databases, joint marketing partners, as well as from other third parties.  Examples of information we receive from other sources include: social media price information; marketing leads and search results and links, including paid listings (such as sponsored links). Additionally, we gather information about phone numbers that call into our services, and numbers we place calls to.    


Information Use, Sharing and Disclosure

When you access or use our Services, we collect, use, share and otherwise process your personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.  We rely on a number of legal bases to use your Personal Information in these ways. These legal bases include where:

  • Necessary to perform the contractual obligations in our Terms of Use and Scope of Services forms, and in order to provide Services to you;

We use Personal Information collected via our Sites for a variety of business purposes described below.  We process your personal information for these purposes in reliance on our legitimate business interests, in order to enter into or perform a contract with you, with your consent, and/or for compliance with our legal obligations.

  • We use your Personal Information to send you product, service and new feature information and/or information about changes to our terms, conditions and policies.
  • We use your Personal Information to provide you with access to our Services and technology platform.
  • We may use your information to request feedback and to contact you about your use of our Sites.

  • GLOBO may use information it collects from customers and their users in connection with the Services we provide for a range of reasons, including: to set up a user account; to provide user support; to provide, operate and maintain the Services; process and complete transactions, including invoicing; manage customer’s use of the Services and respond to inquiries and comments; send customers technical alerts and updates; investigate and prevent fraudulent activities, unauthorized access and other improper activities; and for other purposes about which we notify customers and users.
  • To transfer any necessary information to a GLOBO Customer or a customer’s client in connection with the Services rendered by GLOBO.
  • We may use your information for other business purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve our Sites, products, services, marketing and your experience.

We use your Personal Information in this context based on the contract that we have in place with your or our legitimate interests.  


How Do We Share and Disclose Information to Third Parties?

GLOBO will only share information with your consent, to comply with laws, to protect your rights, or to fulfill business obligations.

We may process or share data and Personal Information on the following legal bases:

  • Consent: We may process your data if you have given us specific consent (or provided consent as a result of your relationship with GLOBO’s Customer pursuant to which GLOBO is performing its Services) is given as a result to use your Personal Information in or for a specific purpose.
  • Legitimate Interests: We may process your data when it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests.
  • Performance of a Contract: Where we have entered into a contract with you, we may process your personal information to fulfill the terms of our contract.  Likewise, if you are a client of one of GLOBO’s customers, we may process your personal information to fulfill the terms of the contract we have entered into with the customer. 
  • Legal Obligations:  We may disclose your information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process, such as in response to a court order or subpoena (including in response to public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements).  We may also disclose your personal information as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
  • Vital Interests and Keeping our Services Safe and Secure:We may disclose your information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our policies (including privacy and security), suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, and illegal activities.
More specifically, we may need to process your data or share your Personal Information in the following situations:

Third Party Analytics

On some of our Sites, we also may utilize third party web analysis services provided by companies such as Google, to better understand your use of the Sites and services.  These services collect information such as how often users visit the Siets, what pages they visit and what other sites they used prior to visiting.  They use the data collected to track and examine the use of the Sites, to prepare reports on its  activities and share them with other third party ervices.  These services may use the data collected on the Sites to contextualize and personalize ads on its own advertising network.  The ability of these services to use and share information they collect about your visits to the Sties is restricted by the Google Terms of Use and privacy policies of these entities.


Collection of Information from Minors

GLOBO does not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.  

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Sites, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are a parent or guardian of such a minor and consent of such minor dependents’ use of the Sites. If we learn that Personal Information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, and no guardian consent was provided, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. Account Information

If you would like to review or change the information in your account at any time, or terminate your account, you can contact us using the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy or log into your account settings and update your user account.  Upon request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases.  However, some information may be retained in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use, and/or comply with legal or regulatory requirements.

Personal Information We Collect

GLOBO collects the following information on contracted contacts, (i) identifiers, such as name, company address, email, phone number, and contact information on the primary contact and billing contact for the contract; (ii) commercial information such as a record of the services purchased or demos requested; and (iii) internet or other electronic network activity such as usage information, IP address, cookie information, and customer feedback.  In pursuit of performing the Services, the information collected is variable and configurable, and could include MRN and intake questions.

Why Do We Collect Your Personal Information

GLOBO uses identifiers to provide the services requested, such as to fulfill a request for a demo or provide you with information about our services.  We use identifiers and commercial information for general website administration and maintenance such as record keeping, troubleshooting, data analysis, testing and survey responses.  We use identifiers, commercial information and internet or other electronic network activity for trend monitoring, marketing, and advertising, as well as to ensure Site security.

Civil Code 1978.140 (t) (1)).  For example, we use services that help deliver interest-based ads to you, by collecting information from our website users.

    • The categories of third parties with whom we share Personal Information.

    • Whether GLOBO disclosed your Personal Information for a business purpose, and if so, the categories of Personal Information that GLOBO disclosed.
    • Whether GLOBO sold your Personal Information for a business purpose, and if so, the categories of Personal Information that was sold, as well as the categories of third parties to whom GLOBO sold the information.
  • Right to Request Deletion: You have the right to request that GLOBO delete any Personal Information about you that GLOBO collected from you.  Please note that there are exceptions that apply to this situation wherein GLOBO would not be required to fulfill such a request to delete information.  For example, when the deletion of information would create problems with the completion of a transaction or compliance with a legal or regulatory obligation.
  • The Right to Non-Discrimination: GLOBO will not discriminate against you (for example,  by denying services or providing a different level of quality of services) for exercising any of the rights afforded to you under the CCPA.  This memes that we will not penalize you for exercising your rights set forth above.

European Economic Area Additional Information

The United States, the European Economic Area, and other countries all have different laws regarding privacy and data security.  It is possible that if your Personal Information is moved from one country to another that the laws in your home country are different from the laws in the country where the information was moved.  

If you are a European visitor or customer, to the extent that GLOBO is deemed to process your personal data, it relies on the following legal grounds: (1) your consent; (2) to perform a contract between you and us; (3) to comply with a legal obligation; or (4) where we have a legitimate interest to do so, balancing this interest against your interests and fundamental rights.  These legitimate interests are administrative functions within GLOBO, marketing activities, and complying with your request for information.
